Sime Darby Engineering Sdn. Bhd (SDE), is a subsidiary of Sime Darby Berhad, Malaysia's leading multinational and one of the largest conglomerates in South east Asia.

SDE was incorporated on April 27, 1981 under the name of Sime Darby Services Sdn. Bhd. In September 3rd 1983, the name was changed to Sime Sembawang Sdn. Bhd. and subsequently changed to Sime SembCorp Engineering Sdn. Bhd. on February 27th 1999. Sime SembCorp Engineering Sdn. Bhd. was then a joint venture between Sime Darby Berhad and SembCorp Utilities Pte. Ltd of Singapore.

Since January 2005, SDE is fully owned by Sime Darby Berhad and known as Sime Darby Engineering Sdn. Bhd. (SDE).

Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning of Sumandak Drilling Platform A, Pipelines and Host Tie-Ins at Samarang Complex

SDE secured this EPCC project on April 2005 from Petronas Carigali Sdn. Bhd. This project consists of a 2,000 MT topside with dimension 36.65M (L) X 32.50M (W) X 15.50M (H) and 1,800 MT 4-legged Jacket. The contractual period for the fabrication of Sumandak Drilling Platform A is 14 months and jacket for 13 months, with an additional 3 months for offshore hook-up and commissioning.
